Join us at 9:30 on Sunday mornings as we are studying the book of Exodus.

Last week, they discussed: As Israel abruptly leaves Egypt, they must decide which path they will take on their journey into the promised land. They can either go the way everyone else does, along the Egyptian road and through the land of the Philistines, or they can go through rough wilderness and rocky terrain. From an outsider's perspective, the obvious option seems to be to take the road that is already firmly established. After all, it's easier and quicker, and we would have plenty of supplies that the people of Israel could purchase and acquire to make sure they stayed full and prepared for each day. But upon further inspection, this path, while seemingly the obvious choice, was fraught with danger. Egyptian outposts lined this path, along with hostile Philistines who would have liked nothing more than to destroy God's people.

Our lesson for this evening will be an in-depth dive into why God sometimes leads us down roads that are far less traveled and attractive than others. None of us want to traverse the difficult paths, and yet that's often exactly where God leads us. Our responsibility is to take Him by the hand, and trust that He will be the one to make our way plain, protect us from outside voices, and provide all that we need on a daily basis.
