Latest News:

August 10th the Women's Ministry came together for supper and to hear the testimony and teaching of Psalm 23 from Anne Aufarth, Don and Jeannette Taws' daughter. It was a wonderful night of fellowship, delicious food, and wonderful teaching. Click on the link below to see a few pictures.

Bible Studies:

*These begin September 12th

1. Faith Points by Barbara Barker

This book study meets the 1st Monday of every month. We enjoy pizza and salad together, share prayer requests and praises, and discuss the latest chapter we've read. We meet from 6:30pm- 8:30pm in the session room. Questions: Susan Toms

* our next meeting time is October 4th

2. "The Proverbs 31 Woman in 2010" (starts September 13th)

This bible study meets weekly from 9am-11:30am on Mondays.  The schedule is:

9am: Prayer Warriors meet in Parlor

9:30am- Refreshments in the Fellowship Hall

10-11:30am- Bible study and activities in Parlor. Bring sack lunch if you want to stay and eat together after

Other Groups to Join:
   
1. Far Above Rubies: (starts September 27th)

Cathy Stuckey leads this group at her house on Mondays at 3pm- 5pm. The group focuses on building the character of girls 8-14 years old based on Proverbs 31. Older girls from 14 and up serve as big sisters to these girls. They study God's word, do crafts, and learn other skills like cross stitching.

2. Covenant Book Club:

Marty Harple leads this group in the parlor on the 4th Monday of every month at 6:45pm. They read a new book each month and come together to discuss each book  from a Christain worldview.  If you are interested in having the entire list of the books for the year contact the office.

September 27th book: Half-Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls.

October- Danger in the Shadows by Dee Henderson

Novemeber- Sarah's Key by Tatiana De Rosney

3. L.O.V.E. - Ladies Out Visiting Everywhere

Jeanette Taws leads groups of women on the last Wednesday of each month to visit shut-ins and others that might be in the hospital. Groups of two go out together (if you are new you will go out with someone who has done it before) and spends 30 minutes in fellowship with these women. If you are interested they meet at the church at 10am.

Upcoming Events:

1.  Annual Retreat

October 22-23rd at Ridge Haven. The speaker this year is Kathy Saint Drown. Kathy will be speaking on "Radically Changed by the Word" as it pertained to Jesus' disciples and applies to Christians today as disciples of God. She is the daughter of Nate Saint, one of the men who went with Jim Elliot to Ecuador to minister to the Waodoni tribe.

2. Cooking with Betty:

Betty Bessette hosts cooking events. The last one was July 26th from 11:30am- 1:30pm.  Betty taught ladies how to work with puff pastry. When she's ready to teach again, we'll let you know!
