My perspective on the Ft. Payne, Alabama mission trip

 The beginning:
My mission trip began several weeks before we actually departed
Hendersonville. The decision to go was a mission trip in itself and
took several weeks to gel. I was torn between my responsibilities at
home and the call to go. Finally, I realized that ignoring God was not
an option.
Preparations began two or three weeks before departure and I have to
admit that the lack of information and details about what we would be
doing, where we would be staying and what the accommod...READ MORE by clicking on the title above.

Hope. Day 6.

Today was our last work day. It was bitter sweet. We are all very
tired and miss our families and homes very much, but we also got to
meet Denise and her grandson today. As Denise told the story of the
'storm' they went through, I think all 7 of our men were in
tears. The darkness seems so dark at times. But, she was more upbeat
than I would have guessed and is very grateful for the work we did
this week. We got to pray for her and her new house and the hope of a
new future. A...READ MORE by clicking on the title above.

Hope. Day 5

Today was interesting to say the least. The day started with some
beutiful melodic harmonies of Ryan as he serenaded our boys awake. We
then embarked on an adventure to Camp "Fisher's of Men."
Well...the camp that will be a camp in a year or two. The owner of
this land, has a vision to see young troubled teens coming here to
learn about life in a different way. He says because his boy scout
leader taught him way more than his dad ever did, he wants to do the
same for these boys. ...READ MORE by clicking on the title above.

Welcome Back. Today was a very good day. Our Team awoke early to
these 2 wonderful ladies serving and cooking for us:
We then shipped off to Meet our Contact Charles Dillon, who runs a
ministry of disaster relief services (in New Orleans, Indiana, and Ft.
Payne), called "Mercy Flows".
He let us know that our trip this week though intended to be
'Sheds of Hope', will actually be a House of Hope. Though her
house wasn't even touched by a tornado, we learned she has been

Day 2: Palm Sunday

Greetings to those keeping up-to date with our trip to Ft. Payne
Alabama. Today was Palm Sunday and it truly was a day of rest and
worship. But it was also April fools day, so while taking a shower my
hot water was cut off and clothes taken away...in a outdoor shower.
Things got interesting.
But, time went on, we participated in Grace Prez's Sunday School
(youth and adults). We then heard Ashley Dusenberry (the Assistant
Pastor of Families) preach a wonderful sermon on 1 Cor. 15 ...READ MORE by clicking on the title above.

We Shipped off today with our group of (9). We had some changes in

Row: Larry, Will, Alex, Jonathan, Paul, Chris, Front Row: Slim, Betty,

The Message: Is it God´s Word?

The Other Day, I was at a Christian Event (not from our church), and
the speaker quoted from "The Message," and it really got under my
skin. Here is why:

The Message is a contemporary reading of the Bible from the original
languages, crafted to present its tone, rhythm, events, and ideas in
everyday language.

Now, on the surface that sounds like someone is trying to create a
new translation just as the NIV or ESV have done to get God's word
into God's people's hearts...READ MORE by clicking on the title above.

Family Fun Nights

 Hey there-

I just wanted to share with people visiting our church site about
how incredible Family Fun Nights were this summer. Every other
wednesday we gathered as a community for some delicious dinner (thank
you jeannette!) and fellowship. When the clock sturck 6pm we were
broken into multi-generational teams. It brought together groups of
people that don't normally spend time together. The first night it
was a battle to get people moving around and by the end people moved
happily...READ MORE by clicking on the title above.

Eating Books

	Hello Reader,

I don´t know if I am capable of keeping your attention for very long,
but I´ll just speak form the heart. This is my first ever blog post -
so please grant me grace as I grow.

Ezekiel 3:1 And he said to me, “Son of man, eat whatever you
find here. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of
Israel.”

I never thought of eating a book or a scroll, but over the years I
have learned what this means. To eat a book means to really digest
it, to consume it, t...READ MORE by clicking on the title above.
